…this year, it’s the War On Cartoons.
A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving
Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer
Get a life people.
After the annual airing of “A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving”, social media lit up with charges that the cartoon is racist. Specifically, a scene where the Peanuts gang gather for an impromptu Thanksgiving dinner in Charlie Brown’s backyard, where all the characters sit on one side of the table, while the black character Franklin sits alone in a busted beach chair on the opposite side of the table.
A) The folks on social media have WAY too much time on their hands.
B) If a 50 year old cartoon has got you all troubled and upset, you may want to see a therapist.
C) We’re thankful to see that the snowflake brigade is out in full force this Thanksgiving weekend bowing to the PC culture police.
D) In an era when Civil Rights for black Americans were being fought for when the cartoon debuted, it was actually Progressive to even HAVE a black cartoon character.
E) IT’S A FREAKIN’ CARTOON.
Fresh off his stunning upset victory in the Democratic primary for Florida Governor, candidate Andrew Gillum found himself in the spotlight again today for a more despicable reason. His GOP rival Ron DeSantis used a phrase about Gillum which can only be perceived as racist and in the very least, out of touch. DeSantis, when asked about facing Gillum in the race to be the governor of Florida said, that voters would “monkey this up” if they elected his African-American opponent, Andrew Gillum, to be governor.
Gillum would become the first African-American governor in Florida history. As for DeSantis, looks like he’s got a new monkey on his back the rest of this campaign season.
New York Yankees starting pitcher Sonny Gray is no longer a starting pitcher after the team pushed him to the bullpen today. This comes after a terrible performance yesterday against a terrible team – the Baltimore Orioles where he gave up 7 runs in 2 and 2/3 innings. But what’s worse is that after he was booed off the field, it came to light that he had offensive and racist tweets in his past. This is starting to become an epidemic as we’ve already seen the Washington Nationals Trea Turner, the Atlanta Braves Sean Newcomb and the Milwaukee Brewers Josh Hader fess up to similar actions. How many more are out there? If more names come out of the woodwork, this can be as bad as the steroid scandal. Sonny Gray becomes the latest face of a youth culture gone wrong.
A 12 year old Ohio boy mowing a neighbor’s lawn had the cops called on him because he accidentally mowed part of the adjacent house’s lawn. The homeowner who reported the young entrepreneur is a white woman while the young boy and his client are both black.
In response, we would like to send this digital, psychopath “Lawnmower Man” to the white woman’s house. At least he’s her preferred color…
