The New York Yankees tried to make a late 9th inning rally but it wasn’t enough as they fell to their arch-rivals, the Boston Red Sox 4-3 at Yankee Stadium. With the loss, the Yankees were eliminated from the postseason and the Red Sox move on to play the defending World Series champion Houston Astros in the American League Championship. Even worse, the Yankees had to watch the Red Sox celebrate on their home turf.
Yanks may want to invest in some starting pitching and guys that can hit for average, instead of feast or famine home run hitters.
The New York Yankees were absolutely clubbed by the Boston Red Sox last night 16-1 in Game 3 of the American League Divisional Series. Starter Luis Severino got hit early and often and Yankee fans found their beloved bombers out of the game nearly before it had even started. Adding insult to injury, the Yankees had to use their backup catcher as a late inning pitcher and Brock Holt of the Red Sox became the first player in Major League Baseball history to hit a cycle in the postseason.
Game 4 is tonight at Yankee Stadium in the best 3 out of 5 series. Hopefully, the Yankees put up a better fight tonight.
The New York Yankees took care of business last night defeating the Oakland A’s 7-2 in the American League Wild Card game.
The New York Yankees announced today the activation of their All Star slugger Aaron Judge from the injury list. He has been out of the lineup since the end of July nursing a fractured wrist. There’s only one itty bitty catch…
Judge has not been cleared to hit. That’s right. The team announced that Judge will be available to play in the field as a defensive replacement or can pinch run, but still can’t swing the bat.
Then WHY are you bringing him back? He’s just an average fielder and doesn’t have a ton of speed on the base paths. Damn Yankees!
The New York Yankees blew a 4-1 lead in the bottom of the 9th inning last night and proceeded to lose 5-4 in the 10th inning resulting in a 4 game sweep of the Bronx Bombers for the Boston Red Sox. The sweep puts the Yankees 9 1/2 games out of first place and in dangerous position to end up as a wild card team in the post-season.
New York Yankees starting pitcher Sonny Gray is no longer a starting pitcher after the team pushed him to the bullpen today. This comes after a terrible performance yesterday against a terrible team – the Baltimore Orioles where he gave up 7 runs in 2 and 2/3 innings. But what’s worse is that after he was booed off the field, it came to light that he had offensive and racist tweets in his past. This is starting to become an epidemic as we’ve already seen the Washington Nationals Trea Turner, the Atlanta Braves Sean Newcomb and the Milwaukee Brewers Josh Hader fess up to similar actions. How many more are out there? If more names come out of the woodwork, this can be as bad as the steroid scandal. Sonny Gray becomes the latest face of a youth culture gone wrong.
A four game series starting tonight with the New York Yankees trailing the Boston Red Sox 5 1/2 games in the standings. It’s a chance for the Yankees to either gain ground or dig a deeper hole for the American League East pennant.
Should be some serious fireworks!
New York Yankees slugger Aaron Judge was plunked on the wrist last night causing a chip fracture which will sideline him for a minimum of three weeks. A powerful, intimidating ballplayer, Judge will be sorely missed for a team in the midst of a pennant race with the rival Boston Red Sox. It’s amazing such a small injury can be so damaging. Small cracks and fissures here and there and suddenly something that looks so good can disappear…
Three game series between storied rivals: the Boston Red Sox and the New York Yankees; perhaps the two best teams currently in baseball not named the Astros. Game starts at 7pm EST from Yankee Stadium..
Who we got?
