Flyin’ With Zion

The NCAA Men’s Basketball season kicked off with a full slate of games last night including two marquee match-ups in prime time.

First the #1 Kansas Jayhawks defeated the #10 Michigan State Spartans 92-87.

Then in the most eye-opening, revealing game of the day, the #4 Duke Blue Devils walloped the #2 Kentucky Wildcats 118 – 84. On full display was Duke’s crop of super freshman athletes, led by 6 ft. 7 power forward Zion Williamson, who has all the makings of the next NBA superstar.

It’s way too early to call and the NCAA tournament is a long ways away, but if Duke stays healthy, they may be the team to beat this year for the National Championship, #4 ranking or not.

Oh Sure, Now That The FBI’s Involved…

Sweeping changes to NCAA basketball regulations coming this fall due to a number of FBI probes at various schools in the sport. This includes allowing college players to have agents and allowing undrafted student athletes to return to school if they attended the NBA Combine. Also, school presidents will now be held directly responsible for misconduct in their athletic departments.
