55 years ago today, on November 29th, 1963, new President Lyndon B. Johnson signed off on the formation of the Warren Commission, headed by Chief Justice Earl Warren, to investigate the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. The committee was organized exactly one week after the death of JFK and the commission would present its final report to LBJ on the matter on September 24, 1964. The 888 page report concluded that the assassination was done solely by Lee Harvey Oswald and the actions of Jack Ruby were also the result of a lone operative. Since its release to the public on September 27, 1964, it has been highly scrutinized and criticized which has resulted in a number of conspiracy theories which still last to the present day.

In light of today’s events, one has to wonder how quick a Cohen Commission will be called together…
