There’s A New Sheriff In Town

So, the New York Mets MLB baseball team introduced their new general manager today, Brodie Van Wagenen. The interesting thing about the hire is that Van Wagenen has never been a baseball executive in his life, but a player agent who negotiated contracts on behalf of superstar clients; some of whom are on the New York Mets roster. The Wilpon family ownership of the Mets seemed pleased with the pick and are hoping their “out of the box” hire will bear fruit. By entrusting a 44 year old with considerable player knowledge and no clubhouse experience to run a franchise which has struggled in recent years since its surprise run to the 2015 World Series, the organization is stepping into uncharted territory.

Honestly, when we first heard the name Van Wagenen, we thought it was one of those rich twins from The Social Network movie.

Let’s hope Van Wagenen is more

And less
