Let’s finish with something a little classier than the last couple of posts. 130 years ago today, the original Metropolitan Opera House opened in New York City. Located at Broadway and 39th Street, it was the home of the first Metropolitan Opera Company. It’s premiere show was Faust and it would remain open until 1966 when the Met moved to Lincoln Center on the Upper West Side of Manhattan where performances still continue to this day.
