In some other movie related news, NBA superstar LeBron James has agreed to work with film director Ryan Coogler (Black Panther, Creed, etc.) for an updated version of the 1996 feature “Space Jam”. The original production starred Michael Jordan (the NBA king of the time) as he teamed up with Bugs Bunny and the Looney Tunes gang as they competed in an intergalactic basketball tournament. It went on to earn over $230 million worldwide.
Ryan Coogler will produce the Space Jam sequel with director Terence Nance (HBO’s Random Acts Of Flyness) at the helm for directing duties. LeBron James will be the leading man. Production will begin in 2019.
