“The King” Elvis Presley’s soundtrack album to his film “King Creole” was released 60 years ago today on September 19th, 1958.

To celebrate, a classic scene from the film:

In other Elvis related news, the Presley related horror spoof “Bubba Ho-Tep” starring Bruce Campbell (of Evil Dead / Army of Darkness fame)was released 15 years ago today on September 19th, 2003. Campbell plays an aged Elvis, housed in a nursing home, where no one believes that he really is the singer. He befriends an elderly black man (Ossie Davis) who thinks he’s John F. Kennedy. Together they battle an ancient Egyptian mummy. A true camp classic if there ever was one!
