This week is the release of the sequel of the 2015 film “Sicario” which starred Emily Blunt, Josh Brolin and Benicio del Toro and chronicled covert operations to combat the illegal drug trade in Mexico by the U.S. Government. For the new film, opening Friday, June 29th, Brolin and del Toro return to continue their war south of the border. With all the news recently coming from the U.S. border deportations and separations, this could be a very timely film. In fact, it could be to Trump what Rambo was to President Ronald Reagan back in 1985. Reagan utilized that film as a symbol of American power and strength at a time when the Cold War with the U.S.S.R. was still raging. Similarly, a film about America using its might to go against illegal trade occurring south of the border seems right up Trump’s alley. Viva la Mexico!
